Unbelievably, we have already arrived at May! It's a great time of year because students' grade-level reading, writing and Math skills are highly tuned, meaning we can venture into some projects to finish the school year. Here is what May holds:
1. Math: Financial Literacy and Geometry Topics
2. Language Arts: Non-fiction Report Writing (Topics: 1) Mining, 2) Resource Communities of Vancouver Island and BC)
3. Social Sciences: Natural Resource History, Canada's Economy, Inter-connectedness and Sustainability, and First Nations Traditional Environmental Knowledge
4. Guided Reading: Literature Circles
5. French: Country Research Presentations
5. Other coursework: Journal writing, Health lessons, P.E & D.P.A, Fine Arts
Please pay close attention to the important dates down the side of this page, as there are quite a few field trips and events through May and June.
