And so we are already in October! It's been a terrific start. Students are enthusiastic about learning, while warming up to the routines of the school year. Here is what we are doing academically:
1. Language Arts: Hatchet Novel Study
2. Math: Whole Number Concepts (Place Value, Addition, Subtraction)
3. Social Studies: Government
4. Art: 2D Art Projects
5. Health: Core Competencies
6. Reading: Levelled Reading Groups with a non-fiction focus
7. Spelling: Weekly lessons
8. Computers: Typing Practice + Introduction to Coding
We have a couple field trips this month: 1) we will be visiting the View Royal Town Hall (date TBA), and 2) the BC Parliament Buildings on Oct. 30th - both as part of our SS Government Unit. Parent drivers are requested for both excursions.
